You have heard of camping out of a tent, RV, and yurt but did you know that you can camp out of a lookout tower with the Seeley Lake Ranger Station? These towers were originally used as a line of defense against forest fires, but as new technology has come into play, they have been phased out and have been transformed for alternative purposes.

The Double Arrow Lookout is 20’ tall and was originally built in 1933. The renovation of this 14’ x 14’ tower included domestic galvanized square head bolts that Portland Bolt manufactured to match the original fasteners. The bolts, ½” and ¾” diameters, were forged on one of our National Upsetters and then galvanized here in house. Next time your project needs a custom headed bolt or rod give Portland Bolt a call.
