Occidental Petroleum is installing multiple loading arms at its crude storage facility in conjunction with increasing the water depth from 45 to 66 feet. This will allow them to fully load VLCC (very large crude carriers) with a capacity of 1.2 to 1.4 million barrels.
This is a fast track project called for headed anchor bolts. The contractor chose Portland Bolt to supply these for our extensive heading ability, headed anchor bolt stock, and fast track custom manufacturing. Portland Bolt shipped over 5,100 pounds of headed anchor bolts, anchor rods, and custom square plate washers, some out of extensive headed anchor bolt inventory and some manufactured on an expedited time line. They also needed 64 rods 1-5/8 x 58 shipped out in 5 work days. Due to our extensive steel inventory we were able to meet their requirements. We shipped all 5 releases on or before the quoted ship date.
