Amazon Biosphere, 7th Avenue, Seattle, WA, United States
The biospheres by Amazon in Seattle, WA will become the new Seattle landmark. These unique structures are the centerpiece of Amazon’s 3.3 million-square-foot retail and office complex scheduled to be completed in 2017. The largest of the three spheres will be 130 feet in diameter and measure 95 feet tall. These biospheres are designed to give Amazon employees a park-like setting for work and socialization and will be large enough to accommodate mature trees.
The anchor rods required for this project were extremely long and high strength. Product was needed in 8 days to meet schedule. The steel fabricator chose Portland Bolt to supply these anchor rods due to our high quality and reliability to meet customer lead time requirements. The anchor rods were as long as 14.75 feet. Portland Bolt’s large steel inventory and 2 shifts of manufacturing per day gives us the ability to provide rush orders on our customer’s required dates.
