Portland Bolt supplied the fasteners for the glue laminated timber trusses that were installed in the Farmington, UT Cabela’s. The trusses spanned over 50 feet and were connected using steel brackets fastened with hex and carriage head bolts. The bolts that were visible were provided as black zinc plated in order to match the color of the large steel plates that connected the trusses.
The glue laminated timber trusses required nearly (1,500) zinc plated bolts and around (750) hot-dip galvanized bolts. Portland Bolt was able to coordinate the zinc plating in a timeframe that met the glue laminator’s lead time requirements, helping to keep the job on schedule.
