Construction began on the new recreation area off the Sarkar River in Prince of Wales, AK in the winter of 2014. Funded by the US Forest Service, all fasteners on the project were required to be domestically manufactured. The new recreation area consists of a timber frame covered building, picnic benches, and an information kiosk. Work was completed on the project in the spring of 2015.
