Tie Rods

A tie rod assembly is used to brace steel columns or heavy timber beams. They are often used with turnbuckles or clevises.

Our new tie rod calculator will quickly determine rod lengths when given overall pin-to-pin dimensions of a tie rod assembly.

MANUFACTURING

Portland Bolt manufactures tie rod or sag rod assemblies. Generally, rods are threaded right hand on one end and left hand on the other to allow the rods to be tensioned with either a clevis or turnbuckle. Tie rods are available plain steel and hot-dip galvanized, as well as stainless steel. Portland Bolt estimators can assist in determining the correct rod length. Complete tie rod packages are assembled in our facility to ensure accurate thread fit, before shipping to your project.
