Project Spotlight

New Sauvie Island Bridge

The only bridge providing access to Sauvie Island, 10 miles west of Portland, was recently in need of a replacement. Built in 1950, the original concrete girder bridge was quickly deteriorating. Construction started in December of 2007 to replace it with a 1,177-ft long tied arch structure. At $42 million, the bridge features over 1,250 tons of weathering steel. Click to learn more.

Kyle Pettijohn

Kyle began working at Portland Bolt in early 2006. Majoring in Finance, Kyle graduated from college in 2005 and moved up from McMinnville to Portland, Oregon and has been loving life in the Rose City ever since.
