In March of 2015, Portland Bolt shipped large galvanized timber bolts to be used on support structures for a new zipline attraction for Smoky Mountain Ziplines in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The unique experience allows for riders to get an up close and personal view of the magnificent Smokey Mountains while zipping along at speeds in excess of 40 mph.
Portland Bolt stocks timber bolts, also known as dome head bolts, in 3/4″ diameter from 8″ to 40″ long. Timber bolts are primarily used in timber applications, as the oversized head precludes the need for a washer under the head. If you need a custom size, that is our specialty. Our 140,000 square foot facility allows us to manufacture timber bolts in diameters 1/2″ through 1-1/2″.
